The origins
Astrology is one of the oldest forms of symbolic interpretation of the human being. Its roots go back to Mesopotamia, where the Babylonians observed the sky thousands of years ago, and to ancient Egypt, where the movement of the stars guided cycles and rituals.
In Ancient Greece, astronomers and philosophers systematised the zodiac into twelve signs and associated each planet with an archetype. This view crossed Arab, Indian and European cultures, gaining refinement over the centuries, as the image alongside illustrates.
It is important to understand: astrology is not an exact science nor a tool for guaranteed prediction. It is a symbolic language that invites reflection and self-knowledge, helping you recognise patterns, potentials and tendencies of personality.

The main trio
Every astrological reading starts from three fundamental positions. Each one reveals a different layer of personality.
1. Sun — the essence
The sun sign represents the core of your identity: who you are in essence, your vitality and what illuminates your path. It is the centre of the chart, just as the Sun is the centre of the system.
2. Moon — the emotions
The moon sign reveals the inner world: your emotional needs, the way you feel, how you comfort yourself and how you process emotions. It is your symbolic intimacy, often invisible to others.
3. Ascendant — the expression
The Ascendant is the sign rising on the horizon at the exact moment of your birth. It shows the way you present yourself to the world, the first impression you make and the lens through which you begin new experiences.

How the chart is calculated
The natal chart is a photograph of the sky at the exact instant and place of your birth. The position of each planet is calculated from reliable astronomical ephemerides, which determine the degrees of each body with precision.
The date defines the signs of the planets. The time defines the Ascendant and the twelve houses — that is why it matters so much: without it, it is not possible to state the Ascendant or the houses with precision. The place is converted into latitude and longitude to orient the wheel.
At Mística, you enter your data and the system calculates the real positions to produce a personalised symbolic reading, as the wheel alongside shows.
What astrology is for
Astrology works as a symbolic mirror. It does not predict the future with any guarantee, nor does it replace medical, legal or professional guidance. Its value lies in offering a language to observe yourself: recognising the essence, understanding emotions, reflecting on the way you present yourself to the world and noticing patterns that repeat.
Many people use the natal chart as a tool for self-knowledge: understanding why certain themes appear often in life, how emotional energy expresses itself, or how the cycles of the present can be used more consciously.
At Mística, you can create your natal chart, discover your main trio and receive a personalised daily message, combining traditional astrological wisdom with the symbolic interpretation of your chart.
